Club Member- Cecil Hanson





Background: Born in Jamaica in 1930, one of 12 siblings. After leaving school joined the Jamaican Police Force, serving for 4 years.
Came to England in 1956. Served in the Army for 3 years.
Worked as a lorry driver in St Helens.
Came to Bradford in 1961. Worked at Crofts Engineers as a storeman for 5 years.
Joined Bradford City Transport in 1966 as a conductor, then a driver, and last as an Inspector until retirement.
Appointed as a magistrate in 1982 until 2000.
Married to Eileen and they have two sons and a daughter.
After a suggestion from Eileen, enrolled on the Bradford College woodwork course at Bolton Royal, then Joseph Nutter. When the courses ended joined the club at Wyke.
Cecil is a founder member of the club.
Interests: Reading, crosswords, Sudoku, Furniture making.
